I believe that is considered a large date if I am remembering correctly the "7" is shorter on the small date coins Edit: I did some searching on the web and found this site that may help you determine which one you have this time and in the future http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...tCompare.htm

large Date...I know this sounds silly, but forget about the date. The easiest way to identify the small date variety is to look at the word LIBERTY. On a small date cent, it is very weak and the Y almost looks like it is going to disappear:-)
Have Fun, Bill

Based on Bryan's link above, it's a Large date. It has the characteristics of the "lower 7" & the "9" is bolder and comes to a more blunted tip on the end of the upper loop with that tip pointing further down than on the Small Date variety.

The LIBERTY is a 100% accurate way to distinguish the small date from the large date and it's a lot easier.

Actually there is only ONE fail safe way to tell the difference, and it's not in LIBERTY. I have seen slightly stronger than normal on small dates and slightly weaker than normal on large dates, and without having the two side by side to compare, looking at weakness in LIBERTY can be confusing.
The ONLY fail safe way to tell the difference is to look at the 7 digit itself. The large date 7 looks like two sticks glued together, with a crease between the parts running horizontally across the top of the 7 where the diagonal and horizontal meet. NONE of the small dates have this crease. They look like a single piece. The large dates ALWAYS have it.

Yup. I see that crease on the posted cent.

The crease is also a great diagnostic, I sometimes have a hard time finding the crease on a more worn coin though:-) The eyes must be going:-)
Thanks for the reminder on that Chuck..
