at least this seller's pictures make it plain that the coin is a cleaned piece of junk.

What's sad, is that someone will probably fall prey to this guy. I've never done a study on whizzed coins, but I think this one qualifies. You can clearly see the buffed areas on the reverse.

What are you guys complaining about? I mean it IS MS-64 Red. Seller even descibes it as "Near Gem". I think he needs glasses.

It's a near-terminal die pair, especially the reverse, so chances are the grade is closer to reality than first impression might indicate. So instead of being a heavy-cleaned VF, it might_just be a heavily-cleaned AU.

Would we pay any less if it is not acid treated?
To me, the color looks slightly patinated from raw salmon pink, rather than an untreated red.
