What Is A Reasonable Price For A 78p Reverse Of 79 Morgan?

What do you think is a reasonable price for an ungraded 78P reverse of 79 Morgan that is called brilliant uncirculated but is not graded?
Someone has offered to sell me one. My one came back from ANACS as a Detailed grade so I've been looking for a replacement.
I'm not talking just catalogue value, I can look that up and they often bear no resemblance to market prices.

The answer depends on the actual grade of the coin. "Brilliant Uncirculated" generally means a minimum grade of MS-60 which would correspond to a retail value in the USA of around $100. If it were a choice piece grading MS-63 it would be worth double that value. Unfortunately, many "BU" coins have problems like cleaning, scratches, rim dents, or wear which are not accurately described by the would-be seller. If you are not confident of your grading skills it might be smart to look for a certified piece.

Does the coin you are considering look better than the ANACS-graded piece? Is it free of whatever defect caused ANACS to issue a Details grade?

If you can post quality images of the potential purchase we could offer better opinions.

Thanks for the feedback. At this stage I haven't actually seen any images of the coin, I certainly won't be buying it sight unseen. If I get some photos I'll post them up here.
