Unidentified 1821 Arabic Coin - Coin Community Forum

billywhizzy New Member Malta 8 Posts	Posted 10/14/2007 10:18 pm Hi, I need to identify this coin. I got the date using some research. Its an 1821 coin. The diameter is just shy of 35mm and the thickness is of about 4 mm. Weighs 29.7grams. Any help would be appreciated. Sap Moderator Australia 16895 Posts	Posted 10/15/2007 12:40 am It's from Tunisia. The date is actually 1281 in the Islamic calendar, or around 1864 AD. Denomination is 8 kharub, I think; I don't have my books with me right now to give you a value. Here's a 2 kharub on WCG.
