Sheepy Valued Member United States 152 Posts	Posted 10/30/2007 3:17 pm I purchased this coin on ebay early last winter... I saw it was graded and didn't really pay attention to the grading service company... big learning experience. It was suppose to be a ms60... My fault for not paying more attention. Now that I am over the irritation (mostly) I still think it is a pretty coin. What would you grade it? thanks! Kim Report this Post to the Staff

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6381 Posts	Posted 10/30/2007 3:33 pm Hi Kim, I think this coin rates EF-40 or maybe EF-45 for wear. To make AU both edges of Liberty's headband should be clearly defined. Unfortunately it also has that washed-out, scrubbed look that I associate with cleaned coins. I could be wrong but the surfaces don't look original to me. Hopefully you didn't pay BU money for it! So, which service called this an MS-60? Susanlynn9 Forum Mom United States 5877 Posts	Posted 10/31/2007 09:14 am I believe this coin has been cleaned. The wear doesn't match with the "cleanness" of the surfaces. Looking at the wear at the headband, eagle's wingtips, and shield, I'd have to say VF30 details. Report this Post to the Staff

We're all saying the coin is "flat" looking (leading to the conclusion that it's been cleaned) but maybe the trouble is with the photograph. Sheepy Valued Member United States 152 Posts	Posted 11/02/2007 1:38 pm Hunter20ga (a bird hunter by my guess?) My Peace, Morgans and Walkers all have this lovely silver swirly color to them when I tilt them back and forth in the light... my Barber does not. He is a some what dull silver color. He is beginning to tone darker silver around the rim and stars. All the pictures that I took that day were on a white window sill in indirect light. Maybe I should try another room with different light and see what I get. Report this Post to the Staff
