Ok, I guess I've been collecting all over the board... but some of these I got a while ago...
Here is a 1923 Peace. I think these are kind of hard to grade...
What do you think?

I don't see any wear on Liberty's hair and the eagle's upper wing feathers seem to have full detail. This coin could squeak into the MS category. The photo seems to show zero luster; is that accurate? If it is actually lustrous under good light I could see it grading as high as MS-62.

Ok... trying to get a real feel for luster... how would I try to get an accurate picture to show yes or no?

Try using an incandescent or halogen lamp positioned 18" or so above the coin and off to the side. Keep the other room lights off. If there is luster it should show as a band of light across the coin surface. This band will be perpendicular to the direction of the incoming light.

Here is a photo that shows a luster pattern. On this BU half dollar the light is coming from the upper right center so the light band crosses the coin from about 10 o'clock to about 4 o'clock.

Hope that helps!
