I acquired my first 1926 far 6. I hope it's not fake. Please let me know how you'd grade it.

It looks good to me. Hope you got a nice deal on it. This is a hard one to find and a prize to finally obtain!

I tried to pick up one a few weeks ago. A seller had a 4-count set of 1926 nickels, and didn't mention the far-6, but I could see one of the four was a 'far-6' from the picks. Unfortunately too many others say the same and I got outbid. (I think it finished around $110).

I wanna say VF-30 but am not sure. I don't think there is a lot of fake ones of these going around.

Considering the weaker strikes on George V nickels, i'd say EF 40-45

VF 20. As there are full strikes in this year of coin, once the luster is removed the weak strike possibility is wrong and should not be taken into account.

Thank you everyone for weighing in! I was hoping for more EF40s which is what I wanted it to grade at, but I can understand it falling a little short and hence the VF30 grades. That said, with the "clean" fields, 90-100% of the central diamond, and being able to see all the pearls in the vertical band of the crown (this last point in particular) all make it hard for me to grade in only at VF20. Cheers!

The missing band beads would usually drop a coin to a VF, but in the case of the lightly struck George V nickels, I would say your coin is probably an EF-40 in reality.
