Santa just arrived for me. We have had family over all afternoon. Haven't had a chance to watch any football or much of anything else. Anyway, everyone has left, Deb and I have cleaned up and she has gone to bed, been up since 5:00AM getting ready. This gave me a chance to set down at the computer, check the forum, look at the Denver score and go thru a few rolls of cents before crashing myself. Just a chance to relax.

Then it started to happened. I opened a new $25 box of cents and there staring at me on the end of one roll was a 1950-S in XF condition. After looking at the scores again I decided to open one more roll. One of the first coins I noticed was a 1970-S. I threw it under the scope and saw, a very weak liberty, then the 7 in the date had no horiz. line and and and YES, the loop end of the 9 is pointed and aimed towards the middle of the 7.

I have been trying to find a small date 70-S in circulation for a long time and there it was. In great condition, too, probably XF.

I have had a great Christmas eve, my family is so very important to me, my nephews and nieces are at the age now where they are more adult than not and I love them so much. There truly are miracles in the air. I am going to head for the sack, now. Wellllll, may just a roll or two more. See I still need to find a Wide AM.

Merry Christmas everyone. You have become like a second family to me and I wish each of you peace, love, health and salvation.

Just settling in here too. Awesome finds for Christmas Eve ! I am still looking myself for some Wide AM's and a 70 -S small date , I guess I should look through some tonight !

My niece and both my nephews got some numismatic items from me this Christmas, and judging from their reactions they enjoyed it very much. I hope they find some interest in it in the future. My son sort of says..yea..cool Dad, but he is 16 and his interests lie elsewhere right now.

I have not been a member long but have always felt welcome here, I hope everyone here has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ! Here's to long and prosperous lives to everyone, and a Wide AM in every roll....

Wow! Excellent find!! I envy you! I posted in another thread about a big box of change (mostly LHC) that my wife's aunt gave me. I have found over ten 1970S so far, but NONE appear to be small date (I lack the small date for my 7100). I have them set aside to further scrutiny though. I also still have more than 2/3 of the box to go through yet!

BTW, watching the game myself and the TMW just hit.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!

Believe me, Rick, as soon as I can I will be posting pics. My new computer is running Vista and I have not been able to download the drivers for my scanner. I supposedly have them coming. Man this is frustrating.
