Hello everyone! excited to join here as I have been using the site recently for light research but now have questions that need answered so I have jumped in. I have been a closet hoarder aka collector of various things over the years-Trading cards, Zippos, Hot Wheels, Magazines, Video Games, Legos and at one point I was into US coins a little bit in my childhood. While I still dabble a little in all the above areas I never really paid attention to any coinage until my kids recently got sucked into a rabbit hole on youtube watching people coin roll hunt. Youtube can do this to any of us in any subject. So of course they asked if we could go grab a box of half dollars. I looked at them as if they were crazy since this was beyond my daily means. But I suggested nickels since you can still get a box for $100 with plenty to go through and they don't hurt my eyes to go through like pennies and dimes. We've found some keepers and have been enjoying it and that is what led me to the site. Look forward to some nickels talk with the members here! |

This is why this place is so much fun... you say something unlearned/ignorant/silly/stupid, six people jump in to help correct things and pretty soon you learn something about something you though you knew. Give it a couple of months of reading and pretty soon you'll be saying "wait, I KNOW that"... and then you're hooked. You'll check for new threads 1st thing in the morning. Then over breakfast (and be disappointed there's nothing).
