Well as I have mentioned before I drive a cab. I had a super day as far as coins Got a 1957 Quater a 1949 Nickel and 4 1963 nickels.
Does it make me nuts that I look forward to the little things like that. The guy dropped the change into my hands with that Quarter and I put it all straight into my pocket I heard the silver clicnk when he handed it to me. Plus now every time the other drivers get something like that the have me swap them for a modern date they can give out for change.

Awesome find insideout! Similarly, I work at a Starbucks and often find myself searching the draw for some nice dates...I picked up a 1942 Quarter last week and a Proof 1984S Jefferson today. It's my favorite part of work. Most of my co-workers do think I'm a little off though haha

Well I have noticed as I am away from home to work. My girlfriends mom and dad have a resturaunt. When I'm there I buy the change from the servers to sort through and catch the cash drawer at the end of the night to see what I can find. The friends I stay with while I'm away also look for coins for me it's funny when people know you collect them how willing they are to try to help you out. I wish I could afford to save everything I get but it's just not possible.

Congrats, I find a few things now and then at work, and I am amazed that you seem to be able to find the silver more often in a cash drawer or from a person than searching rolls. I have been through hundreds of rolls of quarters and dimes and never found silver in either.

Nice, I know what you mean about people looking out for you....my sister thinks I'm the biggest dork ever, yet one day, she said she was going to the vending machine at work, and just happened to look down in her change...there was a BU 64 Dime, and knowing that I would be jumping off the wall with it, she saved it for me. Every once in a while my dad who has no coin knowledge at all will call me and ask "is a 67 nickel good or a 59 penny?" LOL.

Very nice! That is one thing I miss about retail. I used to look through the change throughout the day and at closing time, but dont recall finding any silver. A few wheats maybe but that was about it. I kept it discreet though because I didnt think the others would understand. :)

We are afflicted with a disease, but no, we're not nuts. A famous Nascar driver once said... "You have to be obsessed with whatever it is you do to be successful at it." quote from the beloved Tony Stewart.
