What are your thoughts. I was able to get this for $90. It's another large diameter CBQ off the list. Also, I need some help on which variety this quarter is. I know there are 5 different varieties for 1821 but I can't decide which one. Edited by Connor 12/05/2015 12:32 pm

Sounds like a good price and my guess is G06. The reverse could go VG but not the obverse and the surfaces are free from distractions or problems making the coin look nice for the grade. Browning numbers run B-1 through B-6 for this date and I can't help there right now. I like it and think you got a nice quarter for the money!

Interesting (and appealing coin). G4 obverse with a VG7 reverse. My guess is it graded G6. Sorry I cannot help with the variety.

I think G6 is right on the money.

I think this coin has too much details for it to grade G-6.
VG-8.

well you guys were all over this one...NGC graded this G6. I was trying to keep all my large diameters at a grade of VG or better but I couldn't turn it down for the price. I actually liked the eye appeal of this one better than a lot of the VG's I have seen.

Quote: Also, I need some help on which variety this quarter is. I know there are 6 different varieties for 1821 but I can't decide which one. I say it is B3 obv. is the same for B3 and B4 rev. the 5 is larger or longer and the period is lower and closer to the C.

I think it got a VG8. Full liberty, date, stars, with some definition remaining in hair, ear, and cap. Too much detail left for a G.
