Yes,dont think its a Retained Cud yet from what I can make out but it became one. RCD-1C-1952-01. Cuds-on-coins.com ( Retained Cuds)

Yes I see the crack going horizontal through the head also-I do think this is a Retained Cud and you can match it up with the one I listed for you its an exact match

I would have guessed delamination of the planchet.

I was thinking two die cracks and quite a bit of PMD.
