I can't put my finger around it...the obverse and reverse are correct for this date (Obv 2 and Rev 2). If this is a fake then it's a good one.

The gray color and the black around the edges is a common characteristic of many Chinese counterfeits. I spent a few minutes comparing this with a genuine 1878-S and didn't see any glaring indicators that it is not genuine.
