I sell copper cents for 1.5 cents each in $50-$75 lots. To me it's a no-brainer because I'm already looking thru the rolls for wheaties, foreign coins errors etc...

I wish I had a place to sell them at 2 cents each!

After reading your post on those pennies ,I grabbed 4 rolls that I had already gone through today and went through them again. There was exactly 50 copper cents in them,19-80's--28-70's--3-60's.Wonder if it would pay to keep them,it's something to think about.

They are charging double face value on ebay so its worth a shot. Never thought I would be searching 50 cent rolls to be honest but so much talk about it got me doing it and I have found a little over 5 dollars in each 25 dollar box. Doubling your money is doubling your money and its cheap compared to everything else. When I saw people were looking through rolls of cents I laughed but not laughing no more b/c I am hooked now! What sparked my interest too was the money people were getting for new boxes of 2008's. Just last night I saw on ebay someone getting over a 120 for 25 dollar box and the auction hadn't ended! But I have not run across that yet.

Brinks is pulling copper pennys after searching one box from bank and serval guys At realcent forum are geting boxs from bank thats all zinc 83 thru 2008 pennys in box these days.

Finding 1959 thru 1982 copper could be history soon in bank boxs. The us goverment may be trying pull them like in 1968 with silver coins with machices. I read press release in 1968 us mint website, They pulled over 2 billion silver quarters and dimes gave to gsa to sell them bullion.

I think Brinks is already doing it since overnight the boxs went from like 3 to 5 bucks on copper down to nothing. Its looks they doing large scale pulling copper pennys with machices. Its unkown if us mint is telling them to do it or not.

Surprised to hear a dealer will pay that for coins he can get at face value (granted it would take some work to get $50 worth). I have started a small collection of copper pennies too, with roughly 5800 so far. There are guys out there that have accumulated a ton or more of these though. Some people seem to think that it could be a huge windfall down the road with cents going for 4-5 times face or more.
