331947994136I know how most of these are usually cherrypicked and faked often times, but I figured I'd give it a knock on this one. It was under $10, which averages to about $0.20 a coin give or take. The 1915 D is probably about a $1.50 coin so basically got it for $8.50. So here's the question...should I just resell it, or should I take the chance and open it? Anyone else have bad/good luck with so-called "unsearched" rolls? I've had people open them to find decent enders, and the rest are junk 40's and 50's, and then I know people who've actually found some semi decent stuff. Maybe I should just open them on YouTube and monetize my video...then I'll get my money back....

Chance listings. Looking at the amount of these this guy sells and all of them have a better coin on the end, I would say that they are all 40's & 50's common dates in between the two end coins. I would open them rather than sell them just so some other buyer didn't leave me negative feedback for loading a roll.

To me, any time there is a better coin on one end the roll by definition has been picked through.

It's a put together roll, so it's up to you what you do with it. How do you resell it knowing it's put together? Maybe you should just open it, and put it out of it's misery. Wish I had better news.

I'll probably put it on a facebook auction group and state that it hasn't been searched by me or the previous owner. Based off his feedbacks in the past on rolls similar, it appears as if most of the rolls with junk enders tend to have IHC's in them regardless.

...and I will put in a suggestion that you not become a crappy seller. 'Not searched by me' means NOTHING. 'Not searched by the previous seller' means NOTHING. Not searched or unsearched is a completely bogus term, and is ALWAYS a lie. Just to get cents into a roll, they have to be "searched" to separate them form other coin denominations. If they are wheats or IHC, they have to be searched to separate them from other styles. If there is always an IHC on the end, you KNOW they have been assembled - it is beyond the realm of possibility for a seller to have 100 rolls, each having an IHC on the end that got there by random chance. For them to tell you the roll is unsearched is A LIE. note - substitute "VDB Lincoln", or any desirable date for the IHC end coin.

You must be dying to open it. Otherwise, you would've let it go in the first place.

No matter how illogical this sort of offer seems, the listings continue, so it must be a lucrative venture. Everyone wants something for nothing, I guess.

T-Bop, I feel like I HAVE to at least put one of these rolls to the test.

Fell into this trap before, but it was a fun trap to fall in :). I would just open it, only $10, not a big deal.
