Recently I found this penny in a bunch of Colombian coins that I bought here in Colombia and I need the opinion of the experts to describe if what I consider is an error is an error , and in that case , what kind of error.I think that the coin also is off center ( little...). Does it has a plus ? Thanks a lot
Hi cwb : thanks for your answer.As you can see in the picture the rim is broken or separated in two pieces and the fisure is irregular .That´s not what is called an edge or rim error ?
That is just extra metal that was left on the rim after the MAD missed striking it. If it were a broken die, that would be a Cud and maybe have some collector value based on it's size. I don't see any premium above face value in your coin.

I didn't mean "extra metal" as in more metal than was supposed to be there, I meant that it is metal on the rim that was missed by the die. It didn't get molded into the desired shape.
