i ran across a deeply struck 85 p dime today and it honestly is struck so much better than than any dime I've come across I wondered what the deal was...maybe a dime guru could offer some assistance? I compared the dime to a ton of other dimes and the others pale in comparison...i even asked my wife if I was jsut seeing things...she saw the same thing...this 85 p dime was struck deeper.

I would really love to see pics if possible. It certainly sounds interesting but I can't really offer any help/advice without actually seeing it.

Here you go:

1985-

Is the reverse slightly out of alignment too?

I have a penny somewhere like that. Coppercoins told me that they were fairly common. They can be worth a small premium if both sides are off center.

The '85 dimes had this higher relief. Some of the Philly's are especially "striking". It's remarkable how nice of condition many of these have stayed.

It's ironic that these were made just one year after the '84 quarter which had the lowest rims of all the clad issues. These low rims have allowed virtually the entire population of these to get all banged up and worn. Nice XF '84 quarters are very elusive.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
