If it's a Philadelphia mint (i.e. no mint mark), it's a common date and not worth slabbing unless it grades ~65 or higher -- I bought a 62 last year for less than $50. If it's a San Francisco issue, it may be worth slabbing in the condition you describe -- MS low-60s are going on ebay for $150 to $300. In either case, pics would help us estimate a grade.
As a general rule, it's worth slabbing only if it's worth $100 or more, but some will slab for sentimental, preservation or authentication reasons.
If it's a 66 or above, It's definitely worth grading.. Bluesheet for a 63 is $30, 64 is $40, and 65 is $100. Those prices do not justify the grading cost in my eyes.
