I tend to shy away from gold coins so I'm no expert. but I'll go out on a limb and say this is an au coin. Better opinions are coming. Was this an ampex deal? Also to CCF.

Hey thanks for the response! No, this is not from APMEX. But it was a similar promotion to what they run. As for the coin, It has a very nice luster. What in your opinion makes it AU?

Maybe a weak strike on the obverse - lots of nicks though, - Nice reverse - MS61 total grade at the most!

I see rub on the obverse. Again, better opinions are coming.

MS 61, but I think I may see rub on both obverse and reverse.

Rather baggy and there are what appears to be luster breaks. IMO low AU.

It's PCGS, so they probably gave this a 62. A good deal of chatter on the obverse, but I don't see the luster breaks or high point wear for an AU.
If it was given a 63 - return it.

I agree with Moxking. The coin looks MS 61/62. The dark spots will make the coin harder to re-sell, return if graded higher than 62. It is best to only buy slab coins that you can view from photo unless it is at a price you can not pass.

It's graded an MS-63 by PCGS. I will upload pics when I get home tonight. I am pretty disappointed. On the listing, They do offer a return, but I have to pay return shipping, unless it is their fault. Not sure if this constitutes their "error" though. Hopefully they are understanding when I contact them. I am new to all this, but when I got the coin, I noticed all the flaws, and really wondered if this was an MS-63 considering what I had seen of other examples. Thanks for all your help guys.

is it possible to look up the certificate number, and match the coin photo to your actual coin?

I agree way to many hits and such to constitute a 63, unless it has exceptional luster, which may have carried it to 63. I am in the ms61/62 camp as well.
