Hey Guys. I have this 1971-D FS 102 for grading. I see some very light scratches on the face. Hoe does that effect grading. Hard to see by the naked eye. There is also a very noticeable one under the I in Liberty. Please lt me know how you thin this will Grade! Thank you!

The obverse photo is rather dark so it's hard to know for sure, but I would guesstimate MS-64. The reverse looks very nice. There are other folks on CCF with more grading expertise, so I look forward to seeing what they think.

The four sources I'm using to learn grading are:

Bressett, K. E. & Bowers, Q. D. (2006). The official American Numismatic Association grading standards for United States coins (6th Ed.). Atlanta, GA: Whitman Publishing. {ISBN-13: 978-0794819934}

Bowers, Q. D. (2012). Grading coins by photographs (2nd Ed.). Atlanta, GA: Whitman Publishing. {ISBN-13: 978-0794836870}

PCGS Photograde Online - and they have a mobile app for iPhone, Android, & Windows phones.
