Sorry about the pictures - I couldn't figure out how to get all the coin in view with the bellows I have. I'll be asking about it in the coin photography forum (very helpful folks there!).

I like Franklin halves, but I don't know much about identifying cleaned coins or grading so let me know what you think! Many thanks - Mark

I think you have a nice uncirculated Franklin. I would grade it MS63, it has the usual chatter and a few hits. The scratches on the obverse appear to be lines left when cleaning, or polishing used dies, so that they can be used again. Doesn't appear cleaned to me. If the scratches continue over the devices, that would be a sign of cleaning. These do not appear to do that.

I like this one at 64. The obverse is very nice. Not a superbly struck coin but she is nice.

with my lack of knowledge. I was concerned about the lines left of Franklin but concluded they were die-polishing lines.

I will also add that I don't think it is FBL.

I just finished my Franklins set and I'd give it a (PCGS) mS63. NGC maybe lower with the bell scuffing.
Rest in Peace

Nice original coin . The only distraction I see is the railroad tracks above his eye . MS-63/64, Not FBL .

Probably die polishing lines, but the long deeper mark beneath the L in Liberty looks more like a scratch. If so, then a 62 I'd say.
