to the family.

This side looks OK, please post both sides from now on. We don't know what mint this is, makes a big difference on price and grade. This one is in a low grade but may be rare and/or higher priced to reflect that. Not this year so much, wouldn't pay more than $28 for it.

Sorry, you posted reverse while I was writing. Still ain't worth more than $28 with shipping included.

It's a common date in poor condition. Can you post a link to the listing?

Ok so the different 1882-s dollar has been cleaned. Again a common date. Basically you are just buying the coin for it's silver content.

It's real, but like everyone has said, it's worn with problems. I would wait for a better example to come along. There's plenty of them out there.

Yes it's real. Do you want to learn to grade on your own? Use this as your guide. http://www.PCGS.com/grades/

Study it and come back with your grading opinion. This is your crash coarse.

Save your money! That looks very worn and possibly cleaned. Save up $50 and buy a nice certified 63 or 64. You'll be much happier in the long run.

While there are fake Morgans on ebay, for every fake there are probably hundreds of genuine coins. It does get riskier for rarer dates, but you are pretty safe on any randomly selected common date offering. It tends to look worse when you read the various coin forms because there are many people that search for coins on ebay and report the fakes seen on the forums, but they don't report how many hundreds or thousands of listings they looked at in finding those fakes.
