The Indian Head cent is a common date, even if it didn't have environmental damage and a huge gash across the face, it would only be worth less than $10. I would call it XF details with environmental damage. It's essentially a cull now. I see what you were talking about below the A in STATES. It very well be a die chip. I need a better photo to tell, but maybe someone better at that kind of identification will chime in.

Crazyb0 was correct (except for saying it's a raised mound). There is no mint mark, so it's a 1913 plain (Philly mint) type 2 (5 CENTS in redesigned recess). If the buffalo was standing on a raised mound it would be a type 1. I'm not good at grading Buffalo nickels but this one would also be listed as details environmental damage.

I would keep the Buffalo nickel, it's hard enough to find them in the wild with a readable date, but a 1913? Wow! The poor Indian head basically has no numismatic value. If that is a die chip, I would keep it for that reason alone.
