I have noticed the 2001 Commonwealth of Federation 20 cents for ACT and Victoria come in 2 varieties. IRB joined is the most common, but I have a few I spaced RB joined ACT, and one similar from VIC. I haven't spotted any from other states.
Is this new or common knowledge?

Hi Hans

Most 2001 State Proofs and Specimen Coins are I_RB variety

Majority of Circulating Coins are IRB (All joined) or I_RB

I have only found I_R_B on 2001 Platypus but not State 20c Coins

Cheers

Thanks mrcruise.
I am still looking for the I_R_B platypus.
Do you (or anyone) happen to know if it's the same for the 50 cents?

It was reported in an Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine article in 2006 I think - not all states have the variety I don't think.
I'm not sure that there are any IRB varieties for the 2001 50c - they all seem the same from what I have seen.
