Hi, I am new, please bear with me. my mom found this coin in her wooden chest, with her moms pictures. I am trying to find out if it is real as the many coin dealers have told me it cannot be real, they want to see it but my mom is not it the same city. I have pictures of the coin.can someone please tell me where I can send pictures to verify if it is fake or if actually if the coin can be real? or where I can take the coin to found out. How can you tell if the coin is not real? it is not the stamped coin that says copy on it,it worn and looks like the actual pictures I have found on the internet stated as real. thank you for your time and if I can answer any question to help me resolve this ,please ask. how do you UPload pictures? thanks,
I am adding this to the post because I'm a new member, and it will not let me e-mail to forum members. This message is for Brian 1315, Email address removed ,by Metalman I will upload the pictures to you on your e-mail address. Please advice me if this is allowable. Thanks. For other forum members I tried to upload pictures, but was unable to do it. Please check my forum at a later date, Thanks.

also if you would like I will send a email to you and all you will need to do is reply to my email and attach the photo's and I will upload them to the forum for you if you can't figure out how to do it. I will wait for a reply before I send the email but all you have to do is ask and I will do anything I can to help you try and authenticate the coin in question

An 1804 Dollar? Is that the correct date? If 1804, I sure hope it's real, despite its extreme rarity.

According to Red Book there is only a total of maybe 15 known. I am right in this? Does anyone know the real numbers? I hope it's the real thing, you could be a very wealthy person. 1804 First reverse in PF-68 $4,140,000?! WOW!

Sorry to say but if you have a dollar with an 1804 date, it is almost certainly a fake. It is very rare and only 15 are known with well researched provenances. Whether it has "copy" marked or not is irrelevant since that only applies to replicas made after the Hobby Protection Act of 1973 not to mention the boatloads of counterfeits(complete with "aging") originating from southeast Asia.
