Possible Augustus From Bargain Bin? ID Help

CGCoins Pillar of the Community United States 797 Posts	Posted 08/19/2017 02:38 am Just got this coin today out of a cheap bargain bin($2) locally. I think its Augustus, its the closest match to Bust and reverse I can find in ERIC II. averages 33mm across. I belive the reverse to be Livia Seated Right, holding scepter and branch. Any help or confirmation would be appreciated, I do have ERIC II and Aorta at my desk, so, help lead the way! Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21789 Posts	Posted 08/19/2017 08:13 am I have to agree: Hadrian, the obverse style looks to be Roman Colonial, not Imperial. There seems to be Greek, (not Latin), lettering under the seated figure. A bronze drachm would be quite possible. The problem with Colonial bronzes, you have to be lucky to nail down with certainty, what the denomination may be. What is the weight and diameter? Report this Post to the Staff
