The February coin show starts 4:00 pm PST, 7:00 pm EST.

Interesting to see if they will have Pysanka despite being shown as sold out.

The Coin show is on today. Steve Bromberg had the 1912-14 $10 Gold ungraded BU set for $4495. No mention of them from the Gold Hoard. Sold out in a few minutes.

It amazes me that an expert seller would have gone over these gold coins and as such would just be bullion value or a touch above, with HST you hope gold has a big run.

If you bought these coins you are looking at 16.72 grams x 3 coins x 90% gold = 45.144 g or about 1.45 troy ounces. As of this morning gold is about $1721 Canadian/ounce so about $2500 bullion value.

$4495 is 2.6 times above bullion value. Sounds pricey but I see lots of NCLT offerings from the Mint in silver going for 5 times the bullion value so maybe this is no worse. At least it does not have a cartoon on it, is not concave, and does not glow in the dark!

Some purchaser I guess is hoping for a ms 65 or higher, they would have culled the highest grade coin

Would the "hand selected" coins from the BofC hoard fetch more?

I prefer my coins selected by feet. Such a stupid meaningless saying.

Time for opinions...?
What grade would be required for each coin to make this set worth $4495?
With the value depending on the actual quality of the coins in this set, it's impossible to tell if the price is reasonable without seeing them.

You would need top of population like ms 67, but there is no way there is a top of pop coin in these sets, look who is selling them

I was able to buy some from the mint and had them graded. I was short the 1913 $10 and $5 and purchased them to PCGS to be graded and they made ms 64. Missed the show but if its 3 of the $ 10 I think ms 64 across the board would get you close.
