Im not sure of what I have, I was looking for an ds on a 1943 s steel penny and while using the zoom on my camera , the image of the 5 in place of the 4 stuck out. I thought it was light and shadow camera trick but when I looked at the 1953 penny the 5 is same size . i dont have the experience to say its an error. need someone that knows if this ever came up before.

It is a 1943S steel cent, there is some Die Deterioration going on, damage PMD on the 4. The S mintmark is from die wear, rounded off, common on steel cents since metal was harder to stamp than copper, dies wore out much faster and had many more faults happen.
