I bought this off of ebay for quite a bit (39.99 auction), but it was well worth the money though. The seller found this in circulation and then put it up on ebay. He had trouble selling this at first, but when I saw it, I placed my bid on it and won. It's been Struck Through Grease, "Spiked Head" Die Crack, Die Crack on the reverse and a unlisted DDR on EPU (no joke). I should eventually send this off to John wexler so he can list this as a DDR. This is the only first one of it's kind to ever exist. Not sure how this escaped the U.S. Mint. Here's the link on ebay if you are interested in seeing the item. Never seen anything like this before ever. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-P-Grea....m2749.l2649 Errers and Varietys.

Not a DDR, is called "incuse squeeze shifting"MD. now a struck thru...what us weight? Looks more like a split planchet strike(thin)? Glad you have "disposable income", I would NEVER pay for an ill-defined minor error coin. It is unlisted for a reason, ya know.

Well I hate to break this to you. It is not a doubled die. The devices you see doubled, are from Machine Doubling. They are incuse devices and MD enlarges these devices. Did you note the raised devices on the 'O' on ONE? You can see the push on that device. So you bought a coin that was machine doubled after the strike. Just like the ATB Quarters with the MD on the outer ring devices, this is what happened to the 'E' on the EPU. Sometimes you can see the same thing also on the VDB showing doubling. These devices are incuse. (raised on the die) Thus when MD happens, then the devices are enlarged. Just the opposite of raised devices. So you have an example of die movement on incuse devices. MD. There is an issue of Grease Fill on the raised devices on both sides.

It also looks about one step away from zinc zombiesm. I'd get that air tight after a pure acetone bath.

I have to disagree, not a doubled die. Like the others said it is impossible for a doubled die to cause a spread that strong on incuse devices. I am interested to hear what caused this though, I have no idea, probably something related to the struck through.

Might not be a DDR, but want to see what Wexler says about it. I could care less that I payed a lot for it as a have a disposable income. Hopefully, this wasn't a stupid topic I posted.

There is rarely a stupid topic. This will help others to see what is out there and what it is when they see it.

Please share Mr. Wexler's opinion. We're all here to learn.

Just sent the package out today with 4 other real DDR's. 2 are from 2005 and the other two are from 2004. Mailman will pick it up tomorrow and will be on it's way to John A. Wexler. All of them including the cent from 2017 is in a non PVC flip case. I will let all of you know what John Wexler thinks of this coin and will share his opinion. I will copy and paste it in quotation marks. I am also interested in knowing what he thinks too.

You're very welcome. I look forward to seeing the results too when the news come back. Post will be updated when I hear back from John A. Wexler. Still a crazy coin though as it's Struck Through Grease heavily both sides and has a Die Crack on his head and has a Die crack on the reverse on the top left of the shield.

Coop you must be one heck of a guy to try to help someone just to have them tell you they know more than you do!

40.00 is nothing compared to how much money I have in my budget. I can afford what I've lost. It was a bad mistake, but whatever. I could care less about it. I make sure I won't do it again. Laugh at me as much as you want Mark. I might be a idiot for buying it, but oh well.

I want them to see what I see. If they are missing it, then I help them again and again until they see what I see on their coin. I want them to be sure for themselves, before they agree with me. Then I have accomplished my purpose here.

We'll see what Mr. Wexler thinks of it when it comes in. Probably just MD, but we'll see. Coop, I know you're trying to help me and now I realize your point. Not going to bother getting a refund on it since I like the coin too much and left the seller good feedback.
