Recent purchase...Don't know why but it just really appealed to me,the design and colouring...Here's a bit of history...

Nagas of Padmavati 335-340AD 1/4 Kakini with quite nice detail for this type of coin and reasonably central.
9mm dia and 0.69gr.
Obverse - Humped bull standing left.
Reverse- Maharaja sri ga (Ganapati) in Brahmi script.

Naga in Sanskrit means snake or serpent and so it's believed the earlier Nagas worshipped the snake..

The Nagas were a royal family of ancient central India and at their height ruled Vidisha,Padmavati,Kantipur and Mathura their capital being Padmavati Pawaya in modern day Madhya Pradesh in the Gwalior district.

Rulers..
210-231 CE Bhima Naga
231-245 CE Skanda Naga
245-260 CE Vasu Naga
260-275 CE Brihaspati Naga
275-290 CE Ravi Naga
290-305 CE Prabhakara Naga
305-320 CE Bhava Naga
320-335 CE Deva Naga
335-340 CE Ganapati Naga
They issued 1/4..1/2..1 Kakini bronze coins ranging from 5-15mm in diameter with a variety of symbols on the obverse..Next to the table an example of the wheel obverse (not my coin...yet!)
