What caught your eye first? The distortion of the devices? The devices that are enclosed center parts that were altered? Or the thread I posted earlier about the 2006 DDO's? I was trying to help the new ones here to not just look for notching for a doubled die. But altered devices. The shape looks twisted a bit out of shape on all devices. This doubled die probably doesn't have notching on the devices. (except of 'IN') So the distorted devices is what you should bee looking for. On the 2006 DDO's you will see a lot of notching on LIBERTY devices on that thread I posted earlier. So where to look on LIBERTY for the notching. Upper left corner and lower east/west corners of LIBERTY. SO if you see marks on other areas of LIBERTY, they maybe not hub doubling. Just coin contact, damage, lighting issues or even MD sometime affected a corner. (Usually with a tap on it, no device enlargement though) Angled 'TY' bases also denote a doubled die. So when searching for a doubled die, you need to consider. Is this a single squeezed die or a multi-hub coin? They each have different doubled dies that form on them. How? Sounds like a good question for another topic on the forum?

coop: When I look at any 2006P LMC, the first place I look at is the earlobe for the 018, then on to LIBERTY, so to answer your question, the first thing that I spotted on this coin was the TY in LIBERTY, then I moved on to the IN and then I knew for sure this was the 017.

Nice coin and at a great price cool find. There is a bunch of 2006 errors and none have crossed my path while roll hunting. Mostly Denver coins out here on the west coast would be nice to have 300,000 Philly cents to search, I'm dreaming again.
