I think these notches are being caused by the lighting, there's too many lights causing too many shadows.

You might try taking a normal coin image and set of of your images to make side by sides. Then we could see if the devices are actually enlarged or just looking that way because of the lighting. The over all size of the devices look normal, but like I said a side by side would help us a bit more.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.
