Japanese 10 Yen Collecting Question...

Are there any key dates that are problematic? Looks like 1951 to present would be the way to go. A precursory ebay search shows the coins are out there... just a matter of getting them all together I think. Any guidance would be appreciative. Thanks in advance. Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 02/16/2018 11:55 am The coins are cheap; reeded edge goes for about $0.25, and plain edge circulates freely at about 10 cents each. Caveat: coins from the 70s and earlier are a BEAR to find in high grade (MS, problem-free, red & flashy) and command very steep premiums. A single MS red reeded edge will set you back more than collecting the entire series in VF-XF and brown toned. Report this Post to the Staff
gxseries Pillar of the Community Australia 3831 Posts	Posted 02/16/2018 7:06 pm I agree with Finn235. If you are looking for reasonable condition coins, they should be somewhat easy. I think I find the newer coins issued 2010 onwards to be a bit harder to find due to their lower mintage. There is one mule coin and is quite rare - just cannot remember what year it is.
