Identification Of Very Worn UK Copper Coin

I was having a clear out today and found 2 coins in the bottom of a box. One coin is a George III 1775 half-penny. I remember finding this as a child (in amongst a big bag of Victorian pennies). The other, I think I found under the floorboards. Too long ago to remember. Anyway, I cannot identify the very worn coin so any help appreciated! Stephen Report this Post to the Staff

Check the diameter, if 34mm then definitely a penny. 27mm and it's a halfpenny. Your coin is too worn to make out the date (it appears on the obverse, below the bust) but both denominations were issued for the years 1825/26/27. Report this Post to the Staff

PaddyB Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 945 Posts	Posted 03/30/2018 1:47 pm I concur with George IV Penny - I think the date is 1826 - I can just make out the ring of a six in the last digit under the bust, and as the only options are 1825, 1826 and 1827 it must be the middle one.
