I have become fond of the enhanced finish coins. That said, I would be OK replacing proof coins with them. What are your thoughts on this? Just going astray a bit here but how are enhanced coins struck vs the proof?

Proofs are special handling of the.planchets, special dies and struck under higher pressure.

EU is just special dies.

I like the look. I actually replaced one business strike and one proof with an EU in my type set dansco. It kinda gives the album a different rich kinda look, IMO.

I like the enhanced coins when they are done right. I absolutely love the enhanced 2013 ASE (also my avatar), but I'm not a huge fan of the EU set they came out with last year.

I agree. I was not thrilled with the 2017 EU set (I got one anyway) and the 2014 Silver Half Dollar was so-so. That being said, the 2017 EU Liberty Silver Medal looks fantastic; it beats both proof and reverse proof for beauty.
