Is there anyone out there that shares this passion.

I lived in Germany for a couple of years and aquired both coins and paper currency. One of my favorite pieces is a 5 Mark paper note. Mine is in much better shape than this one, but at least you get the idea.

I have some Reichsmark banknotes from early 1900's, they vary from 1 to 20.000.000 marks. Lately, the market here came to life and a few guys keep selling these. I wonder how they have so many. They're not very expensive. 1914 1 mark 1922 1.000.000.000 Marks, Edited by the government from 1000 marks:)

Good to see someone sharing my interest in the German notes.
Would you believe I have a consecutive run of 5 of the those 5 marks in UNC condition. One of my prized items.
The older german banknotes used to be very sought after here in Australia selling at good prices. Then lately they have dramatically reduced.
Wrk4lvg if you don't mind me asking were in Germany did you live?

Ah yes, Heidelberg. My fav, was of course, Frankfurt. Lot's of good times there for me. Then again, I was 18, 19, 20 years of age and single. lol. I drove off just about every other weekend to a different country for the weekend. Got to see a lot of Europe and got some neat notes and coins along the way pre-euro.

I have no new euros' from anywhere. This was something my girlfriend had offered to do for me once I left Germany and they started the new Euro. Well, we broke up....the rest is history.

I am trying to asses how hard it is to obtain a consecutive run of german banknotes, either the demark or the riechmark. Can anyone tell if they have seen them or own them. There are none on ebay at present.

I bought a 2 million riechmark note of ebay, I know there is one dealer who seems to sell the high reichmark banknotes, they usually come with a 10pfennig coin and some Adolf Hitler stamps. They are also pretty cheap, i'll get some info.

I have found the individual banknotes to be easy to obtain. But nothing with consecutive numbers. Interesting.

"My favourite place in Germany was Heidelberg"
I lived for three years in Berlin right before the wall came down. We went to Frankfurt for a weekend once too! Never been to Heidelberg though.

Good excuse to go back.
As for me I haven't been to Berlin so I need to go back anyway.

I'm moving to Germany, in the Heidelberg area, in less than 4 weeks. But I was just looking at a some money my brother had given me after some of his travels and found some Marks. I've never been into coin collecting but I'm finding it somewhat addictive. Just what I need! Another obsession!!
