Looks like a struck through grease. If that is the case that's a pretty awesome one. Sometimes the die gets some grease built up on it in a certain spot and when it strikes the coin, the grease fills in that areas and prevents the metal from flowing into the image on the die and therefore leaves a an area vois of details and/ letters and numbers. It's pretty common in certain areas and on certain coins but when it affects a large area and causes major distortion as might be your case, they can be worth more than face value.
