Looks like possibly a grease-filled die issue, but others will know more.

Yep, that's the one. People used to talk about this one a lot, when it used to be the "hype" at the time. It's caused by a Struck Through Grease issue. @E&V, just to be clear to the OP, is there any additional value from this small amount of missing detail now? I get it that there was some hype that inflated the price at one point, but this would only be worth face value now, right?

E&V is correct, it's caused by a Grease Filled Die.

Some sucker on ebay might pay a few dollars for it.

Yes. It's technically worth face value. But on ebay, you might be able to get a couple dollars for it, if a sucker buys it. It was all because of the "hype" at the time.
