For my birthday I went to my local coin shop and noticed that they had a tray of 1921 Peace dollars ( not unusual in this part of Ohio. I think we were a release point). After much comparing I bought the best strike I could find and took it home.

It was very easy to attribute this as a VAM 1K. I don't need an attribution. I just can't find any sales. What I would like is the value for an average AU 1921 Peace VAM 1K.

Thanks in advance.

There is not really a "premium" for VAM 1K beyond the standard price for a 1921 Peace dollar....

Thanks Dollardude! When I searched there was a complete, or almost so, lack of sales history for this VAM. With a pop of 5 that could be that it is so rare that it rarely sells, or it could be that no one cares enough to slab one. The sole example I found was a Heritage Auction where the coin did fetch a premium, but I think it was for the strike rather than the VAM. Curiously both examples, and my own, that I found exhibit strong strikes, to include all 9 rays, curl detail ect. Leading me to wonder if this die pair were one of the early die pair on the first day. Possibly shattering before many impressions were made. The coins do exibit a lot of die repair indicators. Thanks again.

Is yours the 1K1 or 1K2 ? (1K2 has an obverse collar clash above the "ERT" of "LIBERTY"

Those "high relief" strikes are nice!
