Hello Coin Community my name is Gabrielle I am 28 years old and have been collecting coins for over 4 years. My favorite coin to collect is the Mercury dime, I also love finding error coins. You Tube and many hours of reading about the hobby has taught me a lot but I recently found myself at a standstill having nobody to answer my questions, which brings me to this community. I would like to show my gratitude to Blueridge Silver for his awesome videos they have allowed me to remember how much this hobby means to me. Back in August I had most of my coin collection stolen from me, fortunately I knew the greedy monster that did it and had him arrested. Months later and the cops found my coins which were ransacked but I did get a good portion of them back. The idiot knew nothing about the hobby and only sold the silver coins not realizing how valuable my collection of pennies are. I am grateful and hope no one has to experience something so cruel.

Elle137 first welcome....secondly, if they are valuable get a safety deposit box. I'm going down today to drop coins and other things off....Thirdly go to the forum under for us colonial coins to see some of my IHP proofs I've posted in the last 5 months and the modern coins to see a few of the merc dimes I've posted.....I have some more raw ones to post with color when I get around to it. Welcome to the Community!

It is sad to hear of a collection that is stolen, but it is great to hear you were able to get most of it back! I hope you enjoy your time on the forums as much as we do.

Elle - to the CCF! American Mercurys are my favorite to collect as a series. When it comes to FSB's you have to be lucky, but blast white radial mint luster examples are the first direction towards finding them. This series have the luxury of being 90% silver, but the average price makes them quite collectible for those folks on a limited budget, and as a series, are still easily found. Yo can do all of the minor error searching that can be done with Lincolns, but because they are of silver, more care was taken with their production, and thus errors are scarcer, and also you get more of a buzz when you find them.

Welcome to the forums! Sad to hear about your collection. Most collectors I know keep very quiet about their holdings to friends/relatives to avoid things like you have experienced.
