In the months leading up to Decimal Day (15 February 1971) almost one third of the pennies in circulation in the UK were dated 1967! A fun souvenir of the Singing Sixties!

1d's minted for circulation between 1967-70 were all dated 1967.With the advent of decimalization every Tom,Dick and Harry stashed bags of these coins in the vague hope of an investment.DOH.
Lofts in the UK creak under the weight of these bad boys....still if you want a 30.81mm cu washer your're home and hosed.

There are Varieties of this date believe it or not. Both the 1966+1967 are reported to have missing waves. Also There are a couple of varieties for 1967 I actually found these myself on the 1967. Reverse has Doubled Die noticeably on the waves and the date and the exergual line has 3 lines instead of 2. The other variety type concerns the border beads. I have yet to uncover which is the scarcest type Small beads-Medium beads and large beads. A tiny silver lining to a year that for the most part will always be a low value collectors piece which is good if you don't have one and you have the pleasure of picking the best of the best for no money at all
