Doing some research on how many are known to exist.

I researched a little and came up with 4 known to exist not including the one I have.

Anyone know how many are known to exist? Please reply.

thanks

That's a very incrediblely rare find! That's awesome that you got it coin roll hunting for face value. I remember finding a 1984 double ear Doubled Die Obverse CRH in May of 2017.

Been running into a similar question as I've recently picked up a couple coins with very low numbers of known examples. For yours, P&G has the right start, as it is a Cherrypicker variety and so the value will go up if it is in a PCGS slab. Thus people tend to do that. But usually there are a couple others floating around, and your best chance to get a reasonable idea is once some folks who have been collecting since the original find check in. They tend to remember when a coin like this shows up, and I suspect tomorrow you will get closer to your answer as they see your post.

Great coin, and congrats on finding it.

Yes, I plan on slabbing this one. If I find 2 more "nice" ones, I will get a membership with PCGS and slab 3 at once.

I have also found the 1994 and 1983 DDRs; wish those were in a nicer condition.

But in a recent post I stated I found a 1997 Half that weights 12.24 grams... so one more nice find and I will submit 3 at once.

thanks for the reply everyone

Yes, I think I am very lucky.

I have only started coin roll hunting Lincoln Cents for 4 months tops. I usually coin roll hunt half dollars.

BUT>>> I am guessing I have been through 100k ($1000 dollars worth of cents) coins during that time frame. And yes, I have found a few other DD and varieties.

thanks for the feedback everyone

Absolutely fantastic finds for such a short time frame.

What part of the country are you in, if you don't mind my asking?

EDIT: And if you aren't aware, be careful about saving these in cardboard flips as the plastic can cause issues (PVC residue) on the surface of the coin.

At the moment I put them in a 2x2 deluxe coin Snap Holder by HG Harris & Co.

I hope the holders are ok; made in China

Most 2x2 staple type cardboard Mylar holders are fine.

It is the soft flips that have the PVC issue. Hard flips are okay. 2X2s are okay.

IMO your coin would auction in a PCGS slab at 2000 or a little over. Put it up on GC with a 2 G start bid and...Sold! 2300 plus buyers fee. Would bet on it bringing that probably a little more. The top 10 sets mostly have a blank under that listing. That's a nice one.
