Hi guys,

I have this 1957 D Lincoln Wheat penny with die chips in the date and a large crack on the right side of the penny running from top to bottom rim. Can someone explain what this is?

I see a few lamination flakes near the bottom right rim below the date.

Thanks very much.

A linear lamination issue. Nice example.

That is called a lamination error. While this looks interesting, it really is more of a problem for the coin than worth a premium. I tried selling them before and there was no interest in them. If it were a strong lamination, then there would be interest in it.

The last one was a five figure figure coin. But on that type, not much interest even in BU.
