Hello I'm new to the forum but have read numerous different topics.,I came across a 1999 Denver mint pennsylvania quarter,it appears to be silver but I can't find any information on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It's most likely silver or platinum plated. Thousands upon thousands of State Quarters were plated and sold mostly on tv. The plating adds no value and many have been released into circulation over the years.

At first glance--given the photo posted--it would appear plated, perhaps for sale on a cable TV channel (opposite reruns of CHiPs).

HSN was selling selling plated coins to the rubes. When they are plated, the are just a face value coin. So now they realize they are not as valuable as the hype back then, and getting spent. A simple test will show your that it was altered:
