When You Purchase A TPG Coin, Do You Report It To Them For Their Records?

I've noticed that when you are on a TPG website sometimes they can tell you when it last changed hands and their estimated value of it. As a collector do you report a purchase to the respective TPG or do they get information straight from auction houses? Thanks in advance. For example, in this thread -- http://goccf.com/t/328661 -- PCGS CoinFacts had reported the sale price before I had the coin in my hand. I've also started organizing most of my collection in PCGS Registry Sets. In that case, I'm effectively letting them know that I have these coins by certification number and whatever photos I upload, but I haven't told them how much I paid for most of them. Even if I did, I'm not sure my numbers would go into their sales/value records because I wouldn't necessarily be providing them with reliable information. Report this Post to the Staff

Their software picks up sales for them, but for whatever reason it only seems to be getting information from Legend/Heritage/Stacks/eBay for the most part. I'm not sure if there is a compatibility issue or if some of the other sources blocked the PCGS software from capturing sales Report this Post to the Staff
