I've been looking for a list of all Lincoln Cents that the mint has issued in a proof. I know that the San Francisco Mint puts out a set each year but since when? I purchased a decent sized lot of Proof Lincoln Cents on eBay and found a few Philadelphia Proofs and a Denver that sure looks proof like. Thanks in advance.

For Memorial Cents, Philly made proofs from 1959-1964, San Francisco started in 1968 to present. (No 65-67 proofs)

For Wheat Cents, Philly made proofs from 1906-1916, 1936-1942, and 1950-1958.

Check your Red Book. No proofs from Denver were minted.

Thanks scstrawn.

Edit @ scstrawn. The list I posted below does show that 1965, 1966 and 1967 Proofs were issued in special mint sets.

Crap John1. Uh doyy. It's the one book I own and I didn't think of looking in it. Thanks.

I did find this if anyone is interested. Doesn't go back beyond LMCs.

Does SMS stand for Special Mint Set? What does that mean?

So the 65, 66 and 67 in the SMSs are not considered Proof. More like a really nice uncirculated I assume?

Some SMS coins have a proof-like appearance. The differences are that the planchets were not prepared like the proofs were. Also, the coins were only struck once. They did handle the coins more carefully than business strikes and most have nice eye appeal. I have a couple of SMSs that contain coins that look very much like proofs.

Edit: neglected to mention that the dies were used for a shorter period of time and were prepared for the SMSs (I think?)
