How do coin dealers feel about coins in a Dansco album? Would they rather look at them in holders? The collection is MS65+.

I don't think it matters to them. They have a business to run and they have to have profit to do it. Hence they likely are not as concerned (or probably influenced) by the way coins are presented to them. Their concern is about actual coin quality vs. what album the coins are in or what a label says.

We collectors are more concerned about the way our collection looks to us.

In fact the last coin show I went to, there was a dealer who had a bunch of used Danscos and other name brand albums for only 5.00 each. No differentiation was made for the name brand. I was told this is not abnormal.

I'd say most dealers will break apart albums and sell coins individually. It's more work but ultimately they can make more money breaking up a set vs. selling it all together. That's why you can pick up used albums for cheap from them (as Earle42 mentioned).

Dealers LOOOOOOOK for collections in albums (raw coins). They cherry pick the best, submit to TPG's, let their collector cadre pick through the remaining, and sell the rest.

If you're selling a dealer an album what will generally happen is they'll conservative grade the keys and semi keys and pay you for those and then you're basically giving them the common dates for free or melt.

As already mentioned most dealers just take all the coins out of the Albums and put the coins in flips. Either the 1-1/2" or 2" sizes. Then some just throw away the Albums. Some try to sell them but find very few people buy used Albums. Several dealers I talk to at coin shows just give the Albums away. I get all my Albums that way. Now with well over 100 Albums, and all free. Just can't be choosy about brand names. The Folders I get free I just give to a nearby grade school. On the last pages of the Red Book there is usually an offer for a free Folder. I always send in for those and again, give to a nearby school.
