https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Coin-1-penn...AOSwOmBcstkVWill not be there long. This very fake was discussed at length yesterday at the ONA. I will post images here if anyone is interested. This one baffled most. Made front page of CCN. Cand promised education......not so much was done. MM Edited by nickelsguy 04/14/2019 4:38 pm

Listing has been removed already. I, among others I'm sure, would be interested in pictures. I would like to have it in my file for future reference. Good job MIke.

based on the "sandy" textures of the rims alone compared to the rest pof the details, should make anyone question authenticity.
they are getting better for sure, but not fooling anyone just yet. thanks for your efforts MM

Thanks for the pics. I see one very obvious marker which distinguishes this from the real deal.

Dave and Jim you are both more than welcome. I am at a disadvantage Dave as to the obvious marker as I do not collect these? Wade, the finish is very good in hand. I washed off the antiquing agent after I took these images and the finish is much better.

Thank you for posting this. This would be so frustrating to buy and find out its fake. Would make non experienced collectors possibly give up.

As I'm not a token collector I'm afraid this one would have fooled me completely.

Is it clear that such pieces are modern rather than contemporary fakes?

Quote: Is it clear that such pieces are modern rather than contemporary fakes? clear? no. obviously questionable? yes. aside from the markers already pointed out, the condition of the rims vs condition of the fields makes the flags go up.
