I have a 1996 Lincoln penny with a silver ring around it. I'm extremely new to this so please go easy on me. Thanks

so from 1983 to present all cents are made with a zinc core and then copper plated..what I see on you cent is the copper plating has been removed exposing the zinc core..safe to spend..and to CCF...always feel free to ask,someone is always here to help out newcomers...good luck..have fun
