I like that a lot! Someone must have really loved that Ike enough to keep it as a pocket piece that long.

What is the weight and percentages of Copper and Nickel in an Eisenhower dollar ?
And why aren't all of the "copper hunters" seeking out this Ike coin ?

There are 0.0458 pounds of copper and 0.0042 pounds of nickel in $1.00 face value of Eisenhower

Total melt value is $0.19.

Bronze makes a bit more sense to melt for other uses, but if a refinery took Cu/Ni coins, how would their refining costs offset "melt value"? Seems you'd need to deliver a rail car of coin to make that worthwhile.

Tks....suspected that.....the costs outweighing the gains....
But with the copper hoarders going crazy, I was just curious.
